Probably not! My husband said he has never been taught that or heard it before. I have, but I don't remember where.

What are these places they can't follow their husbands? We are talking of course about husbands, assumedly that are submitted to God...right?
I would tell you about it but then I would have to stay on the thread and keep posting and I am running out of play time....

I want to get me one of those cool robes and the big hats. Can I be a priest if I wear them?

Do you mean the mother of Josiah? Where does the Bible say SHE contributed to his walk with God? It was only after a copy of the Law of Moses was found and he read it that he brought Israel to the place of national repentance.

But they weren't necessarily saved.

But the family was still a mess exactly because it was dysfunctional.

Feminism, including so-called "Christian Feminism" says exactly that!

And if women didn't rebel against their husbands by refusing to let him "tell" her what to do and if they didn't otherwise try to undermine their husbands.

If we're talking about Christian husbands, I don't think there are very many such places, unless the husbands are leading in a direction away from God.
Chan- I had a long response point by point, but when I went to get some Scripture to quote, I lost it.

Suffice is to say; it is funny watching you attempt to discredit anything of value associated with women. Think on that.

Unfortunately, I am out of time. Good day!

I would venture to say that most preachers who use the term are simply implying that the husband/father is to be the spiritual head of the household. They are not "literally" placing him in the role of a priest.

It is merely taking the premise that we are all priests and the man is the head of the home and drawing a somewhat logical conclusion.

I was never 'taught' it as such. It's just been a fairly common expression I've heard over all the years I've been in church - which is ...... well ....... all my life!

I haven't thought on it much until Carpenter brought it up, but it seems we were taught the same way he described it. My husband was raised Church of Gods (lol), so I doubt they taught that. lol!
