Hell In Question
I am curious to know what other people's perspectives on the subject of hell.
I have often heard that hell in the bible is simply referring to death and the grave. Others say that hell was used in reference to a dump site that was continuously aflame. I've even heard that hell is simply a cessation of being, meaning that when a Christian dies, they spend eternity with God, but when a sinner dies, they have no form of eternal life, they just lose out on life eternal after losing their temporal life. An eternity of death.
Of course there is the ever popular "lake of fire" where one burns for all eternity (depicted by some as being the aforementioned ever burning dump site). ((This version of hell is close to the Islamic [I believe] version of hell, where one is sent to a place filled with boiling water so hot that your skin melts off, then gets put back on and you suffer the whole thing over again for all eternity.))
I look forward to your perspectives on the subject of hell. Please include scripture to support your views.
God bless.
