Yes. I believe it does. You have several types of spirits mentioned in the Bible. You have God (who is a spirit), the holy angels, the dead (both righteous and unrighteous), fallen angels, and unclean spirits. The two types of evil spirits are fallen angels and unclean spirits. Fallen angels "can" possess a person but generally do not. Unclean spirits insanely desire to possess a host to fulfill their lusts and they are typically what we deal with on a regular basis, especially in the realm of possession.

That's my understanding.

I disagree with the notion that any time we sin we are housing an evil spirit (liars, adulterer, etc). We are quite capable of sinning with demon impression, oppression or possession.

a/ That doesn't really answer the original question of "is there a difference between a person being spirit-possessed, and them possessing a spirit?".

b/ The distinction you're making between "fallen angels and unclean spirits" seems artificial.

Correct me if I'm mistaken on this but: What were those "unclean spirits" before they became "unclean sprits"? Weren't they angels... before they fell... thus they're fallen angels?

I think everyone agrees with this. We can sin without a devil and demons in the world!

To begin with..a lot of people who do delivery stuff are flakes and fakes.

To end with, a person as far from God as one can get can speak in tongues. I did while casting. They sure weren't Holy Ghost tongues tyvm.

Let me try and explain it this way. If a person is possessed they are not in control of their life. The demons control what they do, as the gadrene that was in the graveyard not in his own mind.

A person possessing a spirit could be a person that has a spirit of fear. The spirit of fear doesn't make them go and do anything they don't want to do. It may prevent them from doing something that want to do.

And it would probably be more acturate to say the spirit of fear is oppressing them than them possesing the spirit.

But you can't be POSSESSED and have the Holy Ghost in my opinion. But I think you can have a spirit attached to you. Whether you want to say by oppression or possession.
