The impressive part to me though... is when they, once again, mention those who have ridiculed her and treated her badly in the past. They asked "Do you feel sort of a sweet vindication now?"
Her response..."The ones who made fun of me are now nice to me. So I may have won them 'round"
Not... "now whose laughing.", Not "I showed them". Not even... "I feel vindicated'. but "I may have won them 'round"
The bible says that we will be made more than conquerors. Vindication is conquering. Finally seeing them "get their own" is conquering. A desire to "win them 'round" rather than see them defeated is being more than a conqueror. A conqueror defeats their enemies. One who is more than a conqueror even brings those who were their enemies up with them as they rise.
Sometimes it is clear that Susan Boyle has a very simple way of thinking but it drives me to say that we could all use a simpler way of thinking sometimes.

Digging,
I liked this article by Cal Thomas:
Quote:
I have worked in television most of my professional life. I see many women before they have their hair and makeup done. Most are good looking enough; some are just average. But when they emerge from their makeovers, they have been transformed into something they are not. Reality was before. They are now someone's fantasy.
In an interview with a British newspaper, Susan Boyle said, "Modern society is too quick to judge people on their appearances. There is not much you can do about it; it is the way they think; it is the way they are. But maybe this could teach them a lesson, or set an example."
Let's hope it does both.

Indeed...
I will be glad when people stop asking her if she is going to make any changes now that she is such an item.
I'll be glad for the time when people speak to her from who she is as a person rather than speaking to her as this person who has become famous in spite of herself.

Re: Susan Boyle - What can we learn?
I'm not really keeping up with this contest other than catching news clips and reports of what is going on with Susan.
I wanted to see what competition she is up against.
This guy (Julian Smith) is fabulous - talented - wonderful - awesome!!!

I read that a couple of reporters were trying to get a rise out her - they certainly succeeded!!! I didn't catch the whole story, so I don't really know the details of what actually happened.
Yes, she did throw out the F-bomb and it really made her look bad! Don't they judge you, also, by how well you do under pressure?

Re: Susan Boyle - What can we learn?
Just wondering if anyone bought her CD...
I read in a magazine at work that the first week she topped 701K copies sold, and the 2nd week the same.
She was on the Today Show a couple of weeks ago, singing early in the morning, and outside, and she still sounded great.
Thinking about buying the CD...

A guy from our church has it and says it's phenomenal. I personally have not heard it, but I would love to.
