Re: Leaving a Church The Right Way?
Right. There is no interest in your life outside of church. That is sad, really. To many of these people "church" is their life. That is also sad.

Re: Leaving a Church The Right Way?
We both are just lonely....looking at possibly moving if my wife gets a job promotion....she would be making 50 or 60 grand a year....basically tripling our income not including mine...jus t feels like there is nothing for us here anymore.

Well you're wrong there.
The way I see it, if I am going to go to church, I want to enjoy my time there.

Re: Leaving a Church The Right Way?
Me as well but my life doesnt revolve around the few hours a week spent inside the four walls of the church....and since because of work church attendance is lacking it would be nice to have friends from church to be involved with us and to just kinda encourage us....im not talkin the "we've been missin yall at church" speeches...im talking real friendships thst dont just stop at the church doors.

Both times, at the end of the service, he invited them to the front and asked the church to pray God's blessing on them.
A previous church I went to, the Pastor believed the people to be his; and as such, he would tell anyone who tried to leave that he prayed and felt it wasn't God's will they not leave. And if they left, it was an affront to God and the Pastor and no one was to fellowship with them.

I recently heard a pastor say that if anyone left without his blessings they were in rebellion and would remain in rebellion until they came to him and made it right. (The only times I knew of someone leaving with his blessings - either he asked them to leave for various and sundry reasons, or they were transferred out of state by their employer.)
