If a man writes books on failure, and they sell, is it a success?

A saint's life is in the hands of God like a bow and arrow in the hands of an archer. God is aiming at something the saint cannot see, and he stretches and strains and every now and again the saints says, 'I cannot stand any more.' God does not heed but goes on stretching till His purpose is in sight. Then he lets fly. Trust yourself in God's hands.
Oswald Chambers (d. 1917)

Dogs lick you because they love you. Cats lick you because you had chicken for dinner.

If you tell a lie, don't believe it deceives only the other person.

"God must love stupid people, because He created so many of them."

A minister told me, "Sarilda, there's only 2 things in life that you need to know....1. There's only ONE God.....2. You aint Him!!!!!
This has served me well the last few years.
It's a good thing I'm not God, cause we'd have a lot of "crispy critters" walking around here!!!!!!!

Upon my father making the same mistake on the farm over and over my grandfather would reply:
"Law, law, son! Some people live and learn. You just live."

When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around.
But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years.
Mark Twain
