Osas is kind o f like predestination, there are scriptural references to base them from but they will not ballance out with all the scripture. I believe it is a dangerous teaching which will cause many to fall.

IF once saved always saved j ust meant that we could be secure in our salvation... I believe that we can. But... it has been added on to mean that once you are saved there is NOTHING you can do to take you out of God's hands, or out of heaven. That's why a man can die drunk, and the preacher will put him in heaven, because he once gave his life to the Lord. You cannot find that concept ANYWHERE in scripture.
So... yes, OSAS is a unbiblical doctrine, because it may lead people to believe they can live as they please, but as long as they once said the sinner's prayer, they are going to heaven. That is a sad thing to believe.
It is also likely that most OSAS adherents don't live or believe like that, except of course, when a loved one dies who once said the sinner's prayer, sadly.

Re: Once Saved Always Saved
OSAS is Predestination, plain and simple.

hmm, i'm surprised to hear you post this; i would have said "like futurism."
but i am neither, so don't take it wrong; i just equate osas with futurism. Any Preties here believe osas?

List all the elements outlined here that you feel are not true.

just lobbin a grenade here, but isn't this at the heart of the OP Acts 2:38 thing? "Come down to the front of the church, and get saved?"

I don't think so. Acts 2:38 applies the work of the cross specifically. A prayer doe snot do that.
Act 2:37-38 KJV Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? (38) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Act 10:6 KJV He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.
Act 10:46-48 KJV For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, (47) Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? (48) And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

Good point. There is that problem too, with those who once spoke in tongues, but have not continued on, being complacent with their one time experience of tongues. Sad but true, and I see the parallel there with the sinner's prayer.
