Its not surprising to me that I have not found but very little fellowship with my brethren who believe in Oneness and Acts 2:38. I hold these teachings dear.....but most of the rest I have seen has not not been pretty.

I could not worship to this song but I cant worship to most songs unless its just a really slow song. Otherwise I get distracted.

Almost every Church I have been part of was at least somewhat of a doctrinal compromise. Christ himself makes it very hard to do what you are suggesting and what I did for years. As a young Apostolic Elder...appointed so by my Pastor I really tried to hang in there with them. I died to self many times as I heard some obnoxious things being taught.

I preached holiness and perfection once a week there for about a year. Only then to have the Pastor give the "true" definition of perfection in Christ.

Men shave beards, take off watches and rings, long sleeves only. Women never trim hair and always wear dresses. And everyone pay tithes!

Nothing about purity of heart! This has been MY experience among Oneness Pentecostals down through the years.

Whereas Paul speaking of the end time said...Let no man deceive you by any means for that day shall not come (Christs coming) unless there be a falling away first and that man of sin be revealed the son of perdition. 2 Thess 2:1-3

So Paul by the Holy Ghost is commanding us not to be deceived by any other doctrine. Now we would be compromising by attending any Church that teaches such a thing MUCH LESS bringing others into it.

So many times the choice is not easy to make. Go to Church and look the other way when other false doctrines are taught to your family and to others you are trying to bring.

I could go on but thats enuff for now. Each of us have to walk carefully in trying to please the Lord and trying to find a Church where it does not seem as if truth matters.

I am always looking for fellowship with others around the Apostles doctrine. Keep praying for me!

I may have asked this before, but have you considered starting a work in your community?

Well yea its not a worship song its a hard hitting preaching judgment song. I know what you mean about the difference. There is praise and worship and just what I call "sermon" songs.

Ok back to the matter at hand. I listened to this video. I agreed with all he said. I suppose you think that IHOP is just like any other Contemporary Church. Since you know very little about them I can understand that.

What Washer said hits home also to Pentecostals. Remember for many decades now Paul Washers Baptist Theologians and Preachers have leveled all the Charges he is making in this video at Pentecostals!
Indeed how many silly manifestations of the flesh I have seen in Pentecostal Churches. How many Pentecostal Preachers and singers have been exposed as hypocrites?


Hey Im not defending everything Ive seen and heard at IHOP. But if they were simply like what he is describing here I would have heard them and just moved on like Ive had to do with most Churches or singers.

Matter of fact he is not talking about IHOP at all. Just the general Contemporary music scene. If one were paying attention MUCH of the criticizing of IHOP is that they are to hard! Much of it comes down to simpler issues like setting your personal life apart to Jesus Christ.

That is something that brings all out attacks from Evangelical Churches and Preachers. I know I deal with them almost every day. Many of them are sickened by the thought of converts being told they must forsake all and love the Lord their God with all their heart.

Now I realize I dont know the inner working of IHOP. Im always concerned that sin may be found in their leadership. Im always remembering about the time I started embracing some group they wind up finding sin in the midst.

I guess my bottom line is that to me ALL TRUTH IS IMPORTANT. So what truth that many times gets rejected in "Apostolic" Churches I may see in some other group and enjoy.

I mean after all the man who is preaching in this video would call Oneness Pentecostals.....a dangerous cult! And yet people on here will post videos by him or others that they disagree with in many ways but like some things that he DOES SAY.

So Im not really that different than many of you. I dont feel "Apostolic" Churches have all the truth. To hear some truths one must look elsewhere. Yes IHOP has a lot of truth to still come to. Yet there are areas in my experience where they have more truth than Apostolics.

Just call me a Pentecostal/Charismatic if I must be called other than a disciple of Yeshua.

Yes, Washer's statements can be applied across the board. But his point was mainly that if we are getting our thrills and chills only with certain types of music then we are not being sensitive to the Spirit, we are just following our flesh.
