I guess in most circles I have always been a paradox. I don´t know if I can explain without being misunderstood. You may go to my thread and look "deep" into my character. I have a God given consuming burden for souls. I have learned through raising many abused, abandoned children that LOVE is the strongest language we can use. The whole gospel messae hangs on the fact that GOD is love and if we are to be like Him we too must love.
That does not mean look over sinful destroying vices but it means looking past human failings to a God that never fails. Believing in people even though they are weak and knowing that we all dispute with Paul who is/was chief among sinners.
I taught myself to look for good in people and right now am fixing to go visit 3 sick little lambs...

What other NT teachings do we ignore?
This passage in 1 Peter 3 is regularly ignored:

Quote:
1 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;

2 While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.

3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
Hebrews 4:13
Quote:
Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
It clearly says that women whose husbands don't obey the word aren't allowed to put on apparel.

If you want your unsaved husband to obey the word, you've got to take it all off, ladies!

I have NEVER heard this preached. Not once.

Men are commanded to greet one another with a holy kiss. Do they do that at your church?

Men are also told to study to be quiet. Have you obeyed the scriptures lately?

You, Coonskinner are a liar.
Brad,

I never said bad things don't happen, but it is not the epidemic that it can seem like here sometimes.

Re-read the post and think again, friend.

You are right, I apologize, you did not actually say that in your post.... this is a VERY Sensitive subject for me... I get so tired of people saying that things do not happen.

Taking a break.

No apology necessary, Brad, and don't take a break on my account.

I understand it being a sensitive thing for you, and have no stones to throw.

My only point was that there are a lot of happy Apostolics who don't suffer all the angst and misery that we read about so much here.
