Grandma Trouvere, I don't mean to "mock" LS so please don't take offense. You just have to understand that there are some of us that are less than fans based on many things. For me chief among them being content of sermons and the Ruth Reider popularized extra biblical notions about the power in uncut hair, the evil of jewelry, etc.
I have been told for years what masterpieces LS preaches. I have heard him once in person (many years ago) and in the last two or three years multiple times on webcasts, etc and none of those sermons were masterpieces.
The man has amassed such a cult status within the UPC that his mere presence causes a spiritual emotional frenzy. When I listened to a sermon of his a year or so ago in Stockton and commented to his fans that the sermon had no real content, that it was just a series of catch phrases and other red meat to get Oneness Pentecostals revved up the response from most of his following was that I was correct in my analysis but that the content did not matter because he "built faith" in those in the audience. I think that is the same basis by which Benny Hinn operates and sees healings happen.

I appreciate all of God´s army of whick LS and JA are a part along with millions of others.
We are all different. We all have our likes and dislikes. There are preachers I could set and listen to for hours others 15 is a loooong time.
I love Bible teaching like sermons others love faster sermons...A friend called me the other night and said, Hey, "I heard a sermon that made me think of you. It was your type..."
I personally like to hear both JA and LS along with lots of others...

Yes, and I do agree some people get others all worked up over nothing...

In the UPCI, he is Mr. Revival himself.
I don't see it that way personally, but he is regarded by some as such.
I personally believe when men and women repent and turn to God with their whole hearts, they will have revival regardless who the preacher is.

It will be one of turning to Christ and His truth and NOT a personality.

I haven't heard LS since about 1984, wow that is over 20 years ago, seemed to be "hot button" type preaching.

I am just reading this...and if it has been stated before, I apologize....but LS and JA are good friends. He knows about this clip...and laughed. There is no bad feelings between the two.

The clip was put here in poor taste regardless and I am against it.
CC1 I just ignored your previous remarks....old boy.
Reformed Dave I don't have the same disease sorry.
Our church was fired up already.I have not always
gone to a UPC church. This is the first time in several years.
I don't glamorize anyone just give credit where credit is due.
This place is easy to preach to.Recently we had Pentecost Sunday
and we all passed out business cards inviting people.
Our vacation bible school just baptised twenty something kids who
all received the Holy Ghost.
I doubt Brother Strange was agreeing with the idol thing.
I still am against that clip regardless it does nothing but stir up strife and ruin a good thread. To the dumb person who posted it thanks for nothing.
