Good morning all my dear friends.....just a quick note to say "God is good" and "greatly to be praised"...I am expecting great things...God is so much more than we can ever realize...I feel like I am standing on the edge of a wonderful knew adventure, I have not felt like this in a long, very long, time.

Had a good visit with my mom yesterday, it was so nice to visit with her and feel good about it!!!

Watched AI last night I think there is some really wonderful talent this year, best over all from the three years I have been watching...

I am feeling happy about being able to go back to the coast next week and spend some time with my hubby! I am really missing him and he is just plain tired...been working non stop for over a month now...did have Valentines weekend off, but other than that it's been work work work!

Well all I think I will be heading out now...got things to do, and places to be...lol....

Bless ya all and love too! Have a great day! I may return later...I do read everything here even if I don't post, I am aware of your requests and reports.

Well hello, friends. It's a rainy, dreary world here in Ohio today. Yuck. But then after reading some of the other threads on here and hearing about the horrible weather in places like St. Louis, I guess I'll not complain anymore.

On the other hand, I sure will be glad when all the snow is gone and the temperatures get up to the upper 60's and lower 70's.

I read the paper today and found that a lady who had had a profound influence on my life when I was a child passed away. So I'll be going to her funeral tomorrow

I want to share a story about this lady. A dear friend and neighbor of mine was diagnosed with Alzheimer's about 10 years ago. She lost her ability to read very early on, but still wanted to continue her daily devotions. So she came to my house every afternoon and we would read through a devotional book (usually Max Lucado books) and then read the Bible and then pray together. We did this for over 2 years.

One day when we were doing devotions, it was talking about people who had effected our lives as children. I mentioned that Grace had had such a huge impact on me as a kid. She was not married and had no children of her own. But her home was always open to the kids of the church. She took us special places. Did special things with us. And taught us, by example, what it meant to be a fine Christian lady.

My friend said to me that I should write Grace a letter and let her know this. I thought about it a few days and finally decided to do it. We wrote back and forth a few more times after that initial letter. And then life took over and we lost contact again.

A few years later, I was at an event and Grace walked in the door. As soon as she saw me, she RAN across the room (mind you - she's in her 80's by now!!) and wrapped her arms around me and cried!! She said to me, "You will never know how much that letter you wrote means to me. I keep it in my top dresser drawer and anytime I wonder what value my life has had, I get it out and read it again."

This is the lady I need to go the funeral for tomorrow
Sad day for us, but I KNOW for sure that Grace is now basking in the presence of the One she loved most of all.

Margie3 - That story really blessed me. I am so glad you wrote to tell how much Grace meant to you. I wish they would let you read it as part of her services. It reminded me of my 5th grade teacher, Miss Allen. Her birthday was 2 day before mine. From the time I was in her classroom until the year she died, about 15 years later, she sent me a birthday card. I still think of her and the impact she had on my life. Sometimes a inconsequential act and be just the thing that will make someones day. Lord, help me to be kinder and more concerned about those who cross my path.

Thank you, Rhoni. I suggest to people often now that if someone has made an impact on your life, drop them a note and let them know. Sometimes it means more to them than we can imagine.

So on a different note - I got home tonight from ensemble practice and went to come in our house from the back garage (we have two garages. One attached which my husband has made into a "train room" and MY garage, which is detached). Anyhow, the entire sidewalk from the garage all the way to the house is completely under water! And the water was less an a half of an inch from coming into our back door - which would have flooded our family room!!! Uggghhhh!! Our boys went out, bless their hearts, and scooped the ice out from under the water in order to try to make a channel for the water to flow through to get out into the yard. They were able to take the water level down about 1" is all, but that's enough for now. Pray that we don't wake up in the morning to find water standing in our family room, please!

Sis. Margie,

How is the water level this morning? Is there anything that you can do to barricade, maybe with sand bags or anything. I trust all is dry and safe.

Blessings, Rhoni

Lol!! That is no problem!!

Just for an update, Kyle seems to be doing better right now. He was on the phone with my husband last night for an ETERNITY and he had some other young people at his house and they were all debating some biblical issues. He knows NOTHING about the bible or christianity so it takes time with someone like him to learn everything and to understand certain things. Just please keep him in your prayers. He is going with us tonight to a youth rally, I think it will help encourage him alittle.
