Re: Should we teach others to rebel against standa
The hippie/beard thing is all over this forum. Its been talked about over and over here. The shave only preachers have nothing else to use EXCEPT that a man has sin in his heart if he wants a beard.
They may find themselves terrified one day when the judge of all the Earth who may STILL.......have a beard is passing judgment on THEM!

I was taught facial hair brings about pride and rebellion. Ive never heard anything about it being a hippie thing. But, I grew up in the upper Midwest.
Mike, why would Jesus have a beard?
Maybe they’re be duck hunting up there. Man, that would be awesome...

Why would he not? He had one while he was here.
So did Jesus have pride and rebellion?

Re: Should we teach others to rebel against standa
Let's say you allow beard in your church. What would you tell the ministers on the platform representing you church? for instance,
1) A well kept beard or facial hair is allowed
2) No goat teeth or any shaping of the beard that it is not the natural growth
How would you set some landmarks so ministers don't turn into the vanity or machismo part of it affecting the image of the church?

How about none of the above. Maybe let their beard be their business? Kind of like if they want to wear a tie or not. Bow tie? Necktie? No tie?
I don’t think it really should be a factor.
I do think they should be judged according to how their doctrine aligns with the scripture.
Beards though? They are generally considered a sign of masculinity. Men generally can grow better beards than women. We could probably benefit from that distinction in these days of gender uncertainty.

Well brother, I think they should be judged also by their testimony, ... of the heart... and how they care less about the things of this world, including vanity, vainglory, fashions and such, and only care about being a neutral, decent, manly man of God. . Bow tie? Tie? as long as it looks formal, decent and appropriate for the occasion, then it is good.

Leviticus 19:27 KJV
Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.
Do pastors set "landmarks" so ministers don't get caught up in vanity or pride regarding the ties or watches or hairstyles or suits or shoes they wear?
