Re: Cosmetics???
Coadie, you're a hoot!
For the record, I don't attend a small church, we have many visitors every Sunday, and I have no interest at all in discussing you. It's just that YOU won't hush about YOU. I'm honestly getting very bored by the discussion of you.
I'd be thrilled if this thread would get back to discussing scripture concerning cosmetics.

I'm not sure that's correct. Well, at least, there are several Mennonite colleges. I don't know what their beliefs are in regard to secular college.
You may be thinking of the Amish. I found this quote: "...The Mennonites tend to be more tolerant of technology and the outside world than are the Amish. Furthermore, the Mennonites accept higher education and modern technology."

OK I was going more by what I grew up around, they did mostly farming stuff. I never met a mennonite MD though. Been in the medical field for a long time. I have 7 degrees, delivered many babies, sewed a mans arm back on once, a few lobectiomies, open heart surgery at park with only a butter knife. and I got many who work for me. LOL

try the same tomorrow. Approach someone at chruch without introducing yourself and start drilling them about their education and professional history. It sound like bad manners but I guess i have not been told that holiness and good manners are both history.
Go for it.

Works both ways - approach someone at church (not chruch) without introducing yourself and start telling them you are a doctor and have five degrees and charge $300/hr for your services. Sounds pretty prideful to me.

Re: Cosmetics???
It is nosy to ask for someone's phone number, or a photo of their kids (and where they go to school), or their mothers maiden name, or how much you make (although that information seems to be volunteered regularly).
It is NOT nosy to ask "what do you do for a living?" -on the heels of the statement "I make THIS much!".
It is NOT nosy to ask "What are your degrees in?" or even "From where?" -following the statement "I have SIX (count em 6!) degrees!".
Disclaimer: All statements attributed to a certain poster are verbatim since I was too lazy to go back and copy and paste the original quote(s).
Yeesh
I think the real story is probably more simple. "Someone" spent too many nights staying at a Holiday Inn Express.

So if he was one for 50 years then changed, that means he went to "medical school"(if that) at 50. takes 12-14 years to complete all that depending on what practice they choose. That means he would be about 62 when he got done, and then count the other degrees he claims.

That is not true at all. I can see why some on this board have nothing good to say about Mennonites. Actually in some churches most H.S. grads also graduate from college.
Actually there is a Mennonite college were over 90% of the grads in pre med get accepted to med school. I realize some atheists say you can't get a degree and not believe in evolution and be smart enough to go to med school.
Holdermans, some OLD MEnnonites and Amish often make a lesser commitment to advanced education. amish are in trouble a lot because their schools are run more like home schools.
Just 2 comments. Many but not all Mennonites are Holiness. Very few people on this board are. In terms of anabaptists in general, They have been around a lot longer than both pentecostals and protestants. There is a wide range of comment by Mennonites, Anabaptists, regarding LLIPStick
