Let it be understood that Apostolic Friends Forum is an Apostolic Forum.
Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

I do believe it includes salvation.
However, this does not address the exact moment of the same, whether it is instantaneous or a process, or more precisely, whether there is one, three or more steps to salvation.

The theme of Peter's message was to introduce Jesus as the Messiah. Peter took the opportunity to remind the audiencr they were responsible for the crucifixion. The same people a few weeks earlier were yelling crucify him and let his blood be on our hands. It is possible the crowd realized the impact of the judgement they pronounced on themselves and wanted a way to reverse the curse they put on themselves and future generations.

Therefore, they were guilty of the sin of murder and needed forgiveness. I was also so guilty of the sin of murder, per the Bible, because of hatred I held towards others. My sins put Jesus on the cross. Why would Peter give me a different solution to my dilemma than he gave to those in Acts 2? Salvation by grace is the only the thing that can " break the curse" you spoke of. If Peter was offering them anything other than salvation by grace with his command in Acts 2:38, then he was teaching works based salvation and the curse was not lifted from those Jews.

I maintain there is just ONE step to salvation, and it the step that GOD takes in saving us by washing of rebirth and renewing of the Holy Ghost as Paul said in Titus 3:5. We signal to God that we are surrendering to that salvation by repentance/water baptism in Jesus' name.

Good points. The audience was guilty of murdering the Messiah. One can't reasonably explain why Paul's response to the jailer's question was different.
If I understand Acts 2:41 correctly, baptism was benchmark used to count how many people were added to the church. Those who believed were baptized The people who were baptzed and counted as believers.

Of course they were asking about salvation, that's why Peter told them...
Act 2:40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
And the Bible records that 3,000 obeyed what they heard...
Act 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
SAVED!
What must we do?
Act 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

2013 and you still promote the error that your efforts during immersing a person is essential to applying the blood of the Lamb of God to that person. 2013 and you think you're the high priest holding the blood of the Lamb in your hand and applying it. 2013 and you still promote the message that you're lord over one of tens of thousands churches of Jesus Christ.
