Re: Trump 2016

Not going to get into tRump's idiotic comments, but I do find it odd that a lawyer association would call themselves "The Race" (which is the literal translation of "La Raza"); especially given that they claim no association with the NCLR. It just strikes me as a very unusual name for a lawyers group.

However, part of me wonders if there might be some validity to them.
The original attack in which Trump said the Judge couldn't be fair because he's Hispanic was racist. Period.

I agree with Alberto Gonzalez, who both was against Trump's attack, but also defended the desire to make sure the trial is fair. It's one thing to pose a valid question of whether a judge is impartial. It's another thing to claim a Judge's ethnicity precludes him from being fair, impartial and able to do his job.

That has not stopped you from arguing in other posts.

"At the end of a lengthy exchange, Tapper asked: "If you are saying he cannot do his job because of his race, is that not the definition of racism?"
"No, I don't think so at all," Trump said.
Trump first broached these waters in an interview with The Wall Street Journal published Thursday, in which he said Curiel, who was born in Indiana, had an "inherent conflict of interest" in the Trump University lawsuit.
"If he was giving me a fair ruling, I wouldn't say that," Trump told Tapper, pointing again to Curiel's background. "I think that's why he's doing it."
"I'm building a wall. I'm trying to keep business out of Mexico. Mexico's fine," Trump said. "He's of Mexican heritage, and he's very proud of it, as I am of where I come from."
Trump again called for Curiel to recuse himself from the case."

Re: Trump 2016

Just pointing out that Trump doesn't see it as racist.
He sees it as a reason that he is not getting rulings the way he wants them.

Regardless if he doesn't see it as racist, it's racist.

"If you are saying he cannot do his job because of his race, is that not the definition of racism?"

The answer is yes. Obviously Trump will claim it is not.
