without HIM we could do nothing!!

We are expecting our 20th grandchild in March. A boy. That will make us

15 grandsons. The oldest grandson, 24 1/2 yrs, is licensed with the UPC,

will be married 4 yrs. Jan 17th. The next oldest grandson will be 22 yrs. on

April 5th. He is fixing to get his license also. We also have 5 granddaughters,

ages 11, 10, 6, 3 and 2. All of our children are active in church.

Our middle daughter and her husband pastor the church my father and

mother founded in 1958, along with their 11 children. That will be 50 yrs. ago

Nov. 2008. Five of our six adult children and their spouses and children

still attend this church where they were raised. One son lives in another

city, approx. 15 miles from us and attends an Apostolic church there. God

has been SO good to our family. Our roots go very deep!

Today we attended our annual Family Christmas Party with ten of my siblings

and their families present as well as extended family. (We lost our first sibling,

a younger brother, age 55, in Sept. 07). He was sorely missed today but his

widow and daughter and 2 granddaughters were present. We had a great time

of delicious food, fellowship, sang carols, recalling family memories of years

gone by, etc. There was approximately 100 present, more or less!

Blessings,

Thank you, Lady Chocolate, for your kinds words.

But we cannot take all the credit. First, we have an incredible God!

God-Loving Grandmother, Godly parents, and a host of other godly

influences in our lives that helped us in our parenting!

Blessings,

I understand... but in reading your post, it reminded me of Proverbs where it said that "her children shall call her blessed"

That is what I want to pass on to my children....... a Godly heritage. God bless you!

Indirectly comparing AFF to a prison and violence seems a bit off ...

Carp ... is this your view?

Both married first time.

Will be 10 yrs in July.

Have two adorable children. 5 yr old son & 2 yr old daughter!

We are blessed and just as freeatlast, we have never fought over our differences, we've always managed to discuss through it all. We relate very well and have very common values and goals. We have utmost respect and loyalty towards each other. We are fully committed to our children's upbringing.

When I was single, I banked on the promise in Proverbs 19:14, which states

Houses and wealth are inherited from parents,
but a prudent wife is from the LORD.

Whenever folks would approach me in church as to why I was not married yet (church folks can sure add so much pressure with their constant prompts, they should stop pushing younguns to get married), I would quote them this scripture letting them know I fully trusted that HE would present her to me. The LORD came through and it was well worth the wait and trust...It paid off handsome dividends!

Since not all the posters on AFF have posted their marital status...the statistic isn't quite right. I would say it is closer to the 50/50 mark than others are letting on.

I am happy and thankful for all those who are in their first marriage and intend to make it their last. Honor should go to Sis. Falla and her family who are great Christian examples.

But, I will say for those of us divorced, some once, some twice, and even some three times - well God is good and merciful. We're still serving God and are happy.

Blessings, Rhoni

Rhoni,
I agree. I do not view myself as better or more spiritual than any who has gone through a divorce for any reason.

I thank God everyday that through our tough times (My son's illness).

We have found some form of strength from the Lord.

I pray for his mercy and grace everyday.

Bro. Nathan,

I totally agree with your statement in the bolded. We have nothing

to boast about within ourselves, do we, Brother!

I feel that way as well. I do know that when one makes it past the 40 year mark. That is a special thing. I praise God for Godly examples.
