Re: Having surgery today!

This is absolutely incredible! I preached two back to back services unhindered by my surgery and taught for 3 hrs afterward. I then walked for an hour. Supposed to walk 3-4 but I could only get in 1hr before it got dark!

I can go back to working out with no restrictions tomorrow!! I gotta admit that I had my doubts when the Dr. told me as much. But everything he said was just exactly the way it went I'm not even taking the Advil an more! Who woulda thunk it?

Thank God you are OK! When I saw you posted I braced for pictures of gory ruptured incisions and popped sutures!

Seriously, you could post some pictures and foster some discussion I understand HO is an RN now...

Dr. said it was a defect from birth and just showed up due to my age. That didn't make me feel real special! At any rate, this guy is a specialist and has done 15K hernia repairs with a 99.9% success rate and said it will take about 10 min to do. (with his eyes open and 5 min with his eyes closed) He promised to keep his eyes open and that I would have no problem preaching on Sunday. He also said that I could go to the gym with ZERO restrictions on Monday.

I guess I just preached my guts out!!! LOL!

Say a quick prayer and I'm sure all will be well. I have to walk for 1 1/2 hrs after surgery and walk 3-4 hrs a day for the following 2 days and everything will be back normal!
Praying for you! I have an appointment with a surgeon to figure out when I am having my hernia surgery. It has to be before the end of the year as I have already met my big deductible this year plus next year the coverage goes down from 90% to just 80%. I don't have time to wait for Obama to give us all free health care along with free college educations and tax cuts!

The other big motivation is I am not supposed to lift over 20 lbs now so that means I can't wrestle with Mrs. CC1 !!!!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

So, I take it that she weighs over 20lbs? LOL Seriously, unless you have someone in your area that does hernia repair like this, it would be worth the trip to Cleveland to get it done. It hasn't even been a full 3 days yet and other than a little tenderness, I'm back to 100%!!

Check it out:

http://www.herniasurgeries.com/index.htm

There should be someone in your area that does repair with this technique. It is basically a "tension" free repair. Meaning that most repairs are done by suturing the muscle tissue around the fascia "hole" to close it up, creating tension on the muscles. That is what takes time recover from. This technique has no tension, hence the quick 2-3 recovery. My own physician didn't even believe the 3 day recovery and told me that he thought it was just a marketing tool to get more surgeries. He was wrong! How about that....I knew something more than my own physician. It pays to do your research!!!

I WILL be at the gym later today working out and lifting weights! Incredible!

Mow, I wouldn't push it with the weights just yet - - no need to push it.

I appreciate your concern, Mama! But like most little boys who don't listen to their Mother, I went to the gym this afternoon and worked out hard on the tread climber, lifted weights and played racquetball. Sorry, but I just had to put the Dr's promise to the test. LOL

The results: I didn't push it too much lifting bit I played racquetball fairly hard. I didn't play full throttle, but I did push the pedal down fairly hard from time to time. Got beat by some young punk probably in his mid 30's! He finally got me 15-17! At least I didn't play my guts out!!!
