What church is Mickey Friend pastoring in Minnesota?
I met his dad, Al Friend, at ABI in St. Paul. I think at that time Al and Jean had only one child. Al's brother, Art, was my room mate at ABI. Later, after I came to Cincinnati, he lived with the same family I was living with and then he (Art) and I shared an apartment for a few weeks in Cincinnati.
When Al Friend started a church in Hamilton, I was among those who helped with painting the interior. Also, we used to go up there and preach for him once in a while. I haven't seen Al Friend in years but he probably lives within 25 miles of me.
I don't know anything about Mickey Friend except he's mentioned in the infamous Fudge book.

I liked John Osteen better than I like Joel.
Probably an age thing.
I read John's testimony probably 40 years ago about coming into the HGB experience and I've read some of his books, also used to watch him on the er, um, ahem, uh, "monitor" once in a while. I did read Joel's book but it seemed like it was the same thing over and over again. Seemed like each chapter repeated what was in the chapter before. But, several folks have told me how blessed they were by it.
I've seen a couple of videos of testimonies from the Brooklyn Tabernacle, also read some of Pastor Cymbala's books. Quite a place!! and Quite a man of God!!!

Billy McCool is a good preacher.
He used to visit our ALJC church in Cincinnati and preach for Bro. Joe David Sizemore.

Say, do you know a preacher who used to attend that church named John Owens?

I did talk to Him once He was kind to me.
His book on the Apostolic Doctrine is written in a kind manner.
I think it was called The Basic Handbook on The Apostolic Doctrine or something like that ,I used to have several of them ,and I gave them away.
I wish I had one now.

I didn't know he had written anything like that.
I did read a book called "Double Trouble for the Devil" by Bob McCool about the McCool Twins' 50 years in the ministry." I remember Billy and Bobby together at Bro. Sizemore's church once where they both played a guitar together and sang.

I did not know John Owens. We attended that church from approximately 1964 until 1978. I have a copy of a book put out by the church in 1995 when they celebrated their 50 year anniversary. There are pictures of church members in it and there is a Rev. John Owens in there in a picture by himself. He is next to a picture of Jack and Bernice Owens. I didn't know them either. In the section where the home addresses are given, the address for John Owens and the address for Jack and Bernice Owens are the same.
