LOL!!! And the prosperity preachers are off of my lineup. Although in the economy we have had the last couple of years I imagine there are less prosperity preachers around than when times were booming.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

You know good and well I am one of the anti conspiracy people on AFF!!! KP was my pastor for many years but I am not "out of " that church. By the time I went to Austin I had graduated from Bible College already.

Re: The Other General Conference in Houston 9.13-1

Not long before John Osteen died I was at a National Religous Broadcasters convention and was speaking with one of the top Christian film director / producers in the Nation. He had been working with the Osteens on some projects and was telling me how Joel loved being the behind the scenes guy, that he was shy and did not want to be onstage at all.

Ironically it was not long after that conversation that John died and Joel was forced to decide whether or not to take up the public reigns or let the ministry evolve into something else or fade away.

I have only seen him a few times on TV and while it was very lightweight material (much like his book) like others I have heard that the full services at his church have much more meat in them. I have never been so don't know.

There's an old saying that says, "He that prays much in public prays little in private." Maybe the same goes for crying. Actually, there have been times I wept through sermon preparation and didn't shed a tear while speaking it. Maybe Joel weeps his butt off when he's assembling his notes!

Come on, Mr. Smith, bring it

BTW, Mr. Smith, have you read Jesus Manifesto by Sweet? The essay version (not the book)? Would love to hear your feedback on that. I meant to mention that to you awhile back.
