Is clear finger nail polish a sin?

Clearly.

Taking dope would fall under the scripture that says not to defile the Temple Of The Holy Ghost which is our physical body.

Re: Is clear finger nail polish a sin?

Nail polish, clear or colored, is in the category of "cosmetics." Ancient Hebrew women, as evidenced in archaeological discoveries and the Talmud, wore makeup and used cosmetics. Ancient women colored their nails with henna.

Re: Is clear finger nail polish a sin?

This is a very old thread. I see both ILG and Emma Bontrager have posted already.

I still don't wear nail polish. It is still a pain and it still stinks.

Re: Is clear finger nail polish a sin?

When I was a teenager, growing up in the UPC, I remember seeing clear nail polish and clear with a slight pink tint. These were thought to look natural and not gaudy and you didn't think too much of it. I remember see people with pearl nail polish and thinking that was really sinfull though. Funny how our perception is at times. Just like Vaseline and Chapstick were fine because they didn't add color and if you used powder it had to be very light. I grew up with those things being accepted but any type of eye makeup not being accepted but some people did wear mascara. Blush was also worn by some but you knew to keep it natural looking. So when people say Apostolic women don't wear makeup (sorry Bro. Epley) my feathers get ruffled because I've seen pastor's wives putting it on. That was many years ago though and I couldn't tell you if the same things go on today but I have seen the French nails that have already been mentioned.

Re: Is clear finger nail polish a sin?

I know this topic is about nail polish but I just gotta mention that when I was in OP churches, it was during a time when the women's hairstyle was on par with those frizzies for bangs.

I used to wonder why I could not get my hair to look like that. I wanted to be so like the other women. LOL. Then it was told to me later. I was one of the few who did not singe or break their hair off in order to have those pretty curls (frizzies) adorning their faces.

Whenever I made a "poof" it felt no different than putting on eyeliner so mostly, I skipped it. Now, I realize that both "poofs" and eyeliner are ok.
