The timing is somewhat germane it appears ... because apparently his status as a cleric and person of authority ... is part of Ohio's sexual battery law ..

The article states:

I'll give the Ohio district the benefit of the doubt. i suspect they don't track the news. If this was called to their attention, I suspect they had the little meeting of elders and a couple witnesses and used the biblical template to help Bro Monk see that this Monk ee business should result in giving him more time with his family and seeking other opportunities.
