Well, the ones that get me are the Dems that denounce going into Iraq even if to save the people from the inhumane treatment of their leader all the while screaming that we should go in and do something about the slaughter in Darfur.

Like most of the country who believed the lies.

I honestly did not.

I remember all the hype leading up to it, I remember speaking with my Sergeants and other fellow Soldiers about my concerns and the lack of rational thinking.

I remember it all to well.

If ever there was an unjust war that America has participated in, it was the recent Iraq war.

I think there was a huge difference in the wickedness of Hussein and the brutality of Darfur.

Women were not getting their breasts chopped off in Iraq last I checked.

Women were not getting forced "cliterectomies" in Iraq.

Last I checked, child sex slaves and child soldiers was not high on the list of concerns in Iraq.

Women and children weren't having their arms hacked off in Iraq.

There is no way that you could possible compare Iraq to Sudan in brutality.

Hussein had control in his country.

The Sudanese government might as well had been non-existent.

Two completely different situations.

Scotty,
This was a terrible, terrible comparison!

Not really. The mass graves tell a different story. The stories of survivors from the Hussien era tell a different story. But nobody wants to tell that story.

Really? Why don't you ask the people there that were tortured. You think they would agree with your "political" response?

JD - so do you believe the title of this thread is true?
I still think DM was just flame throwing.
I don't think that even he believes it.

You can blow me off if you want to , but its been documented. Massacares of civilians, rape, dismemberment, torture. I couldn't have cared less about WMD's. The country was going down and the people wanted him out, for that opinion they were slaughtered. On a side note, Im for going into Darfur too. But there is no difference.

yeah , but you know that dont matter if your out to rail against the war. Just like everyone zero's in on the WMDs as the ONLY reason we went in when Bush listed a dozen reasons.
