As a person who lives at the southern end of California.....this is absolutely the truth. I was talking to another member of this forum yesterday (not Thad) who lives up North who stated that the distance is GREAT...even to get to Tulare.

They have NOT voted on the formation of the Southern California District yet.

Its my understanding that one of the speakers in favor of the new District will be quoting the oft-quoted David Grey who went on record as saying that he hoped for the day when the WD would be "multiplied". It will be interesting to see what the opponents of the new District will say or do, in light of the fact that they esteem the late David Grey in almost iconic terms.

I don't know what the context of the presentation is......I was not at the planning meeting. However, I have heard it said many times that David Gray was in favor of such a formation.

Putting all things aside...geographically speaking....it just makes sense. As I stated earlier...try having a district that spans from New Orleans to Chicago....and that is roughly what you have as the Western District.

Glad to hear that Abbey was elected.

So was the vote in favor of the district being divided?

That vote has not taken place yet.

I have heard the church is packed and everyone is very quiet.

I should note that the vote for the formation of a new district will not be as close as that for DS.
