did he perhaps mean real rape when he said legitimate rape?
Meaning, when a woman is really raped and not those who wake up after having a couple drinks too many and making a stupid decision then deciding to cry rape when there was no rape at all? Or those who sleep with a dirtbag of a guy, get rejected afterwards and claim rape to hurt the guy who hurt them?
Both very real situations.

Yes, but neither situation has anything to do with the woman's chances of getting pregnant, which is what he referenced.
As for the drunk woman scenario: it may not be violent rape, but no gentleman would ever have sex with a woman who was too drunk to make a good decision.
IMO, any man who has sex with a woman who has passed out from drinking is guilty of rape. It's sex without consent.
I really don't think that women accusing men of rape because they're jerks is that common of a problem. If a woman goes to the trouble to file a police report, submit to exams and go through with an investigation, odds are it's either true or she's a lunatic. It happens, but I doubt it happens very often, statistically speaking. Also, just because no evidence is found or it can't be proven in court doesn't mean it didn't really happen. Rape is hard to prove, especially when it's committed by a boyfriend, husband or acquaintance.

Scriptures? Now let's not get God's Word in the way of politics---some people feel we shouldn't apply His Word to all aspects of life like government and elected officials.

I have no doubt that the Senate candidate's only objective is to eliminate abortions, to which I cannot disagree with. However to say that a woman's body will not become pregnant if intercourse is forced is fool hearty to the extreme. It is no different then saying the reason God didn't heal you is because of some sin in your life. In many ways he reminds me of our ex pastor who taught that the only purpose for sex was for procreation. The genesis of this view point is the same as those who feel that God controls the womb and ANY pregnancy is His will. In other words any drunkin "stud" who has twenty one night stands which result in twenty pregnancies is God's will!

It's not old news when the election for him is not over. InTrade has him at 20% for the loss and McCaskill at 61.2% for the win. No one posted facts and I wanted it as a matter of record.
