It was the lack of the personal resolve of the individual.
When the "pressure" on the outside is greater than the pressure on the inside, there will be problems.

Right. So I am left with the conclusion that I am responsible to be a good parent. That is a challenge and one I will answer for one day.
Parenthood is to be undergirded with prayer and I trust that God will lead me in what to allow and what fo forbid for my daughter. But when it is all said and done she will ultimately make her won decision about whether to serve God or not. I have a hard time believeing that being allowed or disallowed to play sports is a major factor in that.

secretplace, in no way am I stating that organized sports are the greatest thing since sliced bread. I am simply stating that fences not only keep them in, they keep others away. Every now and then a gate is needed to the outside world.
We are told to GO. I know there are limits, but in this venue there is no cursing, drinking, smoking and the like.

Right. It will ultimately come down to the personal resolve of the individual.

It is true, Renda. We get what we preach!
If we preach failure is always just around the corner, then guess what? There is no "sure fire" way to keeps kids from failing, but I would rather equip them, train them and then send them into battle, which they're going to do anyway, than to tell them to stay off the battle field because they can't make it. There's a warrior in there and we just to let "him" out!
