Elder Epley's wife is the daughter of NOLAN ABERNATHY - and YES - Nolan is a Branhamite as is his son Nathan and some other family members.
Nolan is the brother of Don Abernathy.
Don Abernathy has written letter after letter - refuting the Branham doctrine. I have read the letters - the UPC district has letters from him that he does not believe nor preach Serpent Seed or the Branham doctrine.
I have known Don Abernathy for over 30 years and have talked with him extensively about this. I have NEVER heard the name Branaham in his church or anything associated with Brahnam or the Serpent Seed Doctrine.

This is what I have been told, that he did at one time, but no longer does.
I cannot vouch for the veracity of he did, but I have heard him several times with no mention of it.

He along with others are like - What is wrong with these organizations that give up and push out - the best and most progressive men in it???
They think for the most part - the UPC is strange - because they have only met the good guys that left - and then the NUT cases that come in and put WATER BAPTISM and WHY I DO NOT HAVE A TV tracts in the pews and offering baskets!
I tell you the truth - I shudder when I see them come through the doors of my church - I know EXACTLY what I am going to have to deal with - they all sit and judge everyone and everything that goes on. I know that is not ALL of the UPC or Apostolics - but ones that visit around and the NUTS DO all that!!!!!!!!!!!! I certainly DO NOT want them to even visit my church!
TDJ along with many others - just cannot understand why the obsession with control and making everyone look the same and believe exactly the same. They are very secure in their Revelation of who God is and that Jesus is the Mighty God and they baptize in the Name of Jesus and thousands receive the Holy Ghost in their meetings and churches - but as we talk about so many times - IT IS NEVER ENOUGH.
Personally - it was not enough that I came to Atlanta and raised up a great church for the UPC - It was predominately Black - so they brought in another preacher (former board member) to have a "white" church here.
It was not enough that I did not have a TV, facial hair, my wife did not wear pants or paint or jewelry - They demanded that everyone else shave, obey all their silly rules like NO MICKEY MOUSE WATCHES................IT IS NEVER ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!I should not have EVEN started this - my blood boils when I get going on it.
It is pure stupidity as far as I am concerned.

Are you going to start with these mischaracterizations again? These are asinine assertions that are absolutely false.

There is a brother near you, AB, who claims to have written at least one letter for Bro. Abernathy, so that Bro. Abernathy could tell his church "he" did not write the letter.

Well, apparently, he lived it. Can you verify your assertions? For his benefit, not mine.

I can. I will not. Another church started in the area he was in but I assure you it had nothing to do with race. I sat on the HM committee that approved the work. How's that for proof?

I don't find it too far out of reach. I know in a small West Virginia town where the upci started at least two churches and got another church to swich affilliations to undermine the existing upc church in that area. The knock on the mother church was they were going charismatic. So the district played a little politics in case put three other upc churches established with saints from the founding congregation.
