Re: I Want To Get Fitter!
Jogging sucks, so does long distance running. Tears you up over time. Sprints or interval running is much better.

I loved jogging and running. I have a left knee with a severed ACL and a torn meniscus. Some things are rather difficult. lol

I agree.

Re: I Want To Get Fitter!
Yesterday breakfast: Had a bacon, egg, lettuce, and tomatoe on whole grain bread sandwhich.
snack: 2 small sqaures of dark chocolate, 3 crackers with chicken salad and dill pickle slices on each.
smoothered hamburgersteak, mustard greens, and cabbage a very small pc. of cornbread.
I have been doing more carbs because I haven't been going to the bathroom enough. Trying to see if it makes a difference without affecting my weightloss progress.

Re: I Want To Get Fitter!
Someone on a ketogenic diet told me that you can't eat honey while on keto. I question the healthyness of any diet that says that a moderate amount of local honey is bad for you. I understand refined sugar and artificial sweetners being bad for you but honey? Erythritol, Mannitol, Xylitol are listed as some ketogenic sweetners. If I need a little sweetness I will still go to the honey. I have always heard if you cannot pronounce it then don't eat it.

Re: I Want To Get Fitter!
I have come to the conclusion that moderately low carbs is good espeacially to loose some weight, but you don't need to go overboard. When I am talking about carbs I am refering to the healthy ones. Of coarse the bleached grains and sugary snacks soft drinks should not be something that anyone eats at all. As of lately I have evenly distributed eating portions proteins and fats/green leafy green vegtables and a carby vegtable(carrots, potatoes, beans etc.). You need enough grains in your diet for the digestion process.
Two weeks, today I have shaved off another 5lbs. I started at over 250 and weighed in tonight after supper at 231lbs. I was actually able to crawl under my grandads house today because of a broken water line. I would not have fit a couple of months back becuase it is very low. Temp. today reached 103 degrees here in West TN and that will help you sweat off the water, too.

Re: I Want To Get Fitter!
So I have been thinking about the Paleo diet and am going to try some of the recipes. I have cookbooks for all various cuisines and diets, so why not.
I bought some grass fed, no hormone, no antibiotic ground beef to make my paleo meatloaf with, its very high fat.
I'm thinking its impossible to eat Paleo because the meat is not running from you, its not lean enough to eat.

Re: I Want To Get Fitter!
IMO, the fat content in meat mostly cooks out. Whether a person uses 80/20 or 90/10 doesn't really matter. After it is cooked the actual meat is the same, it is the amount of cooked meat left in the skillet that is affected by the lean to fat ratio. My wife always drains her beef anyway. The fattier the bacon the smaller it will shrivel after it is cooked in the end it comes out the same. Of coarse different types of meats have different amounts of fat and also the fats are derived from different source. Different animals are fattened by different food sources, they used to be anyway.
The fats from dairy such as milk, butter, cheese are where I try to be sure to get my extra fat intake from.
