I guess those going to the GC, go out and buy some costly array for the meeting.New suits and new dresses.

Now Scott, are you being a pot stirrer this morning?  Rumor has it the FMD has sent out a memo requesting that rather than spending all that money they give what they would have spent in the Foreign Missions Offering. They're expecting a record offering!

Did they really?
If so, I think it's a fabulous idea! I think it's great to have some new clothes every once in awhile, but from what I've heard about GC...I don't think I would fit it with the fashion show.

Trust me, CareyM.......you would fit in just fine, I'm sure. I've gone to GC for years, and I've never been a 'fashion model'.
It's just like any other large gathering....there's all kinds there. Some that's dressed to the hilt, and others, probably the majority, that's on a budget, but dressed as nice as they possibly can. We just hear about the fashion show! lol

Speaking of fashion . . . the 90&9 website has a blog from NAYC that includes pics. I have to wonder if there were mirrors in the hotel rooms for some people, or if they just didn't bother using them!  There are some rather interesting outfits.
