One of my favorites is Casting Crown's "If We are the Body." The lyrics in this song are powerful and compelling.

"If We Are The Body"

It's crowded in worship today
As she slips in trying to fade into the faces
The girl's teasing laughter is carrying farther than they know
Farther than they know

But if we are the body
Why aren't His arms reaching?
Why aren't His hands healing?
Why aren't His words teaching?
And if we are the body
Why aren't His feet going?
Why is His love not showing them there is a way?
There is a way

A traveler is far away from home
He sheds his coat and quietly sinks into the back row
The weight of their judgemental glances
Tells him that his chances are better out on the road

Jesus payed much too high a price
For us to pick and choose who should come
And we are the body of Christ

Jesus is the way

Songs that Build Your Faith Up

Songs of consecration like these are seldom ever sung anymore. The churches have become so enamored with THE CHANT. In stead of being lifted to the realm of love, devotion and consecration that such songs bring us, we have moved into a strange realm of chant. We are paying the spiritual price for it.

I love the old songs like, "I Surrender All," "My Savior First of All," "It Is Love, My Saviors' Love." A few nights ago, I was singing in my sleep, "It Is Well With My Soul."
It is a different spirit and a different realm of spiritual sacrifice than that of the modern day Pentecostal Chant in so many churches. It almost makes you want to cry when Pentecostal kids tell their parents, "Mommy we learned a brand new song in Sunday School today, it's called "Power In the Blood."
Bro. Strange,

Looking back over this thread I noticed these old song titles. I remember

them all. Remember "Never Alone", "He Whispers Sweet Peace To Me".

Also "Hold To God's Unchanging Hand".

What memories these old hymns bring up!!

Blessings,

Falla39

Because He Lives

God gave His son, they called Him Jesus
He came to love, heal, and forgive.
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, All fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living just because He lives.

How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he gives.
But greater still the calm assurance,
This child can face uncertain days because He lives.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, All fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living just because He lives.

And then one day I'll cross the river,
I'll fight life's final war with pain.
And then as death gives way to victory,
I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He lives.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, All fear is gone!
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living just because He lives!

Through It All

Through It All
1.
I’ve Had Many Tears And Sorrows
I’ve Had Questions About Tomorrow
There've Been Times I Didn't Know
Right From Wrong
But In Every Situation
God Gave Me Consolation That My Trials Come
To Only Make Me Strong

Cho.
Through It All Through It All
I've Learned To Trust In Jesus
I've Learned To Trust In God
Through It All Through It All
I've Learned To Depend Upon His Word

2.
I've Been Alot Of Places
And Seen So Many Faces
But There've Been Times I've Felt So All Alone But In That Very Hour
In That Precious Lonely Hour
Jesus Let Me Know I Was Still His Own.

3.
So I Thank God For The Mountains
And I Thank Him For The Valleys
I Thank Him For The Storms
He's Brought Me Through
If I Never Had A Problem
I Would'nt Know That He Could Solve Them
I Wouldn Know What Faith
In His Word Could

Songs that Build Your Faith

Sis. SarahElizabeth and Sis.BOOMM,

"Because He Lives" and "Through It All" have been two of my

favorites through the years. The words will speak to us if we

will let them, won't they!!

Thanks for posting them! They will build our faith if we sing them,

and listen to the words with our heart.

Jesus said, "I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me;

because I live, ye shall live also". (John 14:18,19 KJV)

Blessings,

Falla39

Thank you Chosen.

That rendition was very beautiful. I love the sound of well orbed violins. Can't stand the sound of squeaky ones. Then when a chello softly accompanies it in the background, it just makes it sound just perfect.
Bless you, brother Chosen.

Sister,

I sing those songs still. Very often I will privately sing with no one listening except my wife or some of the kids "He Whispers Sweet Peace To Me." It is one of my favorites. I also will sing "No Never Alone," also another one of my favorites.

I very often will privately sing, a verse or two and then the chorous that says,

"Oh come unto me
and I will give you rest
take my yoke upon you
hear me and be blessed
for I am meek and lowly
come, trust my might
come my yoke is easy
and my burden light."
