Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

This is coming close to an indictment of the Holy Spirit ... God moves where He pleases.

Some would be willing to die on a withering vine as long as their tradition is reified ... a dead church does not have the THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE.

IT'S DEAD, FOLKS!!!

Show me a church that demonstrates the fruit of the Spirit .. and I see a vibrant, living, and powerful Body of Christ ... grafted into THE VINE.

Keep the man-made traditions, arrogance and self-righteousness if you wish.

Have some of you folks gone so far off the reservation that you would honestly fellowship heresy like the trinity for the sake of more lively worship or whatever you are calling "alive?''

Unbelievable.
Well we can always fellowship w/ the Magic Hair heretics.

I have to tell you - from my experience, all this arguing over whether to fellowship with trinitarian people or not is ridiculous. Very few people who claim to be trinitarian actually believe in 3 gods. VERY few!!

I have had big discussions with the pastor of our church (and yes, it is technically a trinnie church) regarding the Godhead. He has assured me that the very idea that there are three separate 'beings' or 'gods' is just plain unbelievable. I'm telling you - most people who claim to be trinitarian don't really believe trinitarian. They believe just like oneness people.

And frankly, for them it is a non-issue. It's only an issue for oneness folks. I think that for those who make it a huge issue, many do it because it is the thing that makes them "different" (read into that - "special"). Somehow, for me, as wonderful as oneness is, when it becomes a wedge to drive between God's people, then I just have to walk away weeping. Do you truly believe that God can be pleased with us spending time arguing over the way something is worded while there is a world out there lost and dying without Him?

I apologize for the length of this. And I apologize for sounding so harsh. But please consider this: which is more important? Making sure that everyone is using the right terminology - or reaching people with the Gospel and letting them know that God loves them?
