Had the vote gone the other way the talk would have been of ex-communication not voluntary leaving

Matter of perspective and the trouble with labels a moderate UPC would be an ULTRAconservative to the majority of the world

The only thing forbidden is having an unaltered tv in your home.
All forms of ads and preaching are acceptable. No time limits at all.
Men could own tv stations now.

With technology TV as we know it will be obsolete in a few years anyway. Just a monitor on the wall. Internet, TV, and telecommunications basically inseparable. CLose to that now.

This is how it read last year ... I don't think major changes were made to it as Resolution 4.

The Charismatic pastor here in town told me - "Your church is already known as the most Conservative church in town". I asked "why" He said - "You wife wears dresses to church and you wear a suit on Sundays".
ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if comparing ourselves to others is wise.

So very true! Did anyone look at the men on the General Board? These guys are the Superintendents of every district. The General Board is made up of many "very, very conservative and traditional" men (in the words of Pastor Poster). Not that I put my faith in MEN instead of God, but I feel these guys will do everything they can do prevent the UPC from becoming "liberal". I'm really not concerned.
That's my two cents' worth.

By the church world' standards alone, we are to the Right of Right ultra orthodox conservative. To the world, we are almost on par with the mennonites. i don't say that as a put down as i am one of them. just stating what really is the mindset. maybe we don't have as much to fear? i don't know. I know we are not as spiritual as we once were but not sure if rules alone will bring about spiritual renewal either
