The cover letter that the late Nathaniel Urshan prefaced the first Affirmation Statement with, reminding all of us that each church is autonomous, is probably every licensed minister's saving grace in signing every other year... For I am not sure that anyone believes and preaches everything in the AOF.. IMO.

It was awesome when that thing came out a few years ago.
Before churches started cutting back to 1 service on Sunday morning and not having church on Sunday night.
I attended a UPC church.
They would have an all saints meeting on a Sunday afternoon.
Feed us lunch and then start to bable how no one could be on the platform and cut their hair if they were a woman.
No one could own a TV or go to movies.
The thing I was in fovor of about the affirmation statement,
Our pastor did it every year.
On Super bowl Sunday.
So folks would not miss the Super Bowl on Sunday night.
They would cancel Sunday night service due to the all saints meeting in the afternoon.
No more feeling like a sinner for skipping church to watch the Super Bowl.
There was no Sunday night service....
You talk about killing the message behind the message at Kickoff time....
Go Packers!
