I was reading some old PAJC Outlooks and Pentecostal Heralds available in PDF format from a UPC church's web site.
The following is an "announcemnet" from page 1 of the February 1947, Pentecostal Herald. The new UPCI org is not quite a year and a half old at this point. This announcement is signed by WT Witherspoon. Compare it with with Brother Witherspoon's statement in his last letter to the PAJC brethren where he says that "much more" could have been accomplished if not for the "tremendous spiritual battle and division among the brethren."

Many people have commented that they felt like the upcoming Tulsa meeting was motivated by those who wanted leadership positions. Brother Witherspoon's statement really stands out in light of this:
"... as the falling away increases and men allow themselves to be possessed with a spirit of leadership and betrayal of their brethren, it is more and more necessary that we that we stand for the right."

History repeats itself. The Devil is up to his old tricks and we haven't learned our lessons from the past. Sad.

Well, the more organizations/fellowships/unions/denominations that exist,
the more leadership positions (big frog in a little puddle) exist.
