Poor comparison. Getting weapons that are made to kill is not the same as butter knife in my drawer.

Anyhow, I was just stirring the pot. But some guns are made not to hunt but to kill.

Doesn't matter, all guns are effective at hunting, and in some cases killing. Just like all knives are effective at cutting (provided they are properly taken care of) and some are just as effective in killing as well.

What I meant was some guns are made with intent to assault or defend self. sure you can hunt with any weapon, but how many hunters huntin with a uzzie or ak47???

Not a good idea to hunt with those guns. Damages the meat too much....LOL!

Strangely enough, the cops agreed with me. They didn't believe I was going hunting with it though. I thought everyone on the south side of Chicago hunted for deer!!

I've never made it my practice to ask hunters what kind of gun they use when they hunt, so I wouldn't know how to answer that correctly.

Not a poor comparison, IMO. If someone desires to kill, they will use whatever means available.

I understand about stirring the pot, just with no smilies or anything to alert me, I responded.

BTW, I seriously doubt the only knives you have are butter knives.

Yeah, i did quick reply, no smiles.

But I would like some input on a good handgun not to put a cap in someone but to take with me on fishing trips. never know what will come up on ya.

A good flame thrower is my weapon of choice for those kind of circumstances...that way you can protect yourself and cook dinner all at the same time
