The problem is when I have time to play I don't have the money for the lessons, when I have the money for the lessions I don't have the time to take the lessons.
Such is life!
But I still have my books and will just have to start practing again.
I love the piano. My favorite song is the Music Box Dancer, I would love to learn to play that!
If you are just playing for you to enjoy. Buy a song book that has songs you like. For the piano play the melody in the right hand, just one note until you are comfortable and then add a harmony, and read the chord symbol and play the cord with the left.
For the organ most people play the cord with the right hand and use 1 or two fingers in the left. Usually the root, C if C chord. and maybe the fifth, G if in C chord.
I can play by note if i have to, and if i study it for a few minutes. Basically, i study it to get the tune in my head, then play what i hear in my head. (weird, huh?)
I am 26 and i have played the piano since i was 5, (by ear). I've been playing in church since i was 10, and played the B3 since I was 15. my favorite keys are C# and G. i have been heavily influenced by black gospel music and smooth jazz, which is very evident when you hear me play. I am trying to learn some southern gospel, to me it is the most complicated to play. (good southern gospel style, like anthony burger or stan whitmire)

I used to do pretty good with the right hand, but I will have to brush up on reading the scales.
My organ has the cheat chords I can use until I relearn the chords.

Esther, you might be surprised to find out how much free and practical info you can find online. There is sheet music, videos, charts, and a lot of info regardless of your level.

Some of them are pretty genre specific and I'm not sure what style of music you are interested in playing. I refer a lot of people in my church to learngospelmusic.com . They have a lot of Black gospel style and some contemporary. A lot of their music is even spelled out where they write out each actual note you play in the chords, so all you have to know is what the keys are on a keyboard.
