Not UPC basing, but we are witnessing the gradual demise (as we have known it) of a once great organization. I believe the beginning of the demise began in 1992. So sad. I hope that they pull out of their mess. This particular mess is only symptomatic of much deeper, systemic problem(s).
Only an opinion.

IF you take such a stance, you will hurt every department you gave to and not make a statement.
Funny, they never tell what % of the offerings they actually receive. Having been in a district position once, I know first hand some churches pledge and DON'T give. The problem is they depend on book sales for supporting the GC, and they cut the traffic to the book area down to where sales are way off. They are quite agressive about vendors in the sales area having registration- sad since many of the workers never see a single service. (confirmed from someone I asked who is there from 8 AM-11PM for all the days and does not see but one service if that)

This is wrong. Just plain wrong far as I'm concerned!

I don't understand the attitude.
Surely what you'll receive as a result of being in those services is worth more than $25.00?

I will do the same thing!
The General Board was out of line in making that decision as far as I am concerned. I wonder why they did not bring the matter to the conference floor? We all know WHY! I am not saying anything here I that I have not already said to my DS. It is not the moneythat is my problem...It is the principle of the thing! JMHO

Well now that they have said you don't have to vote to go to the business that is all I will go to. I will go and vote and come home. I can do without the all night offering thing anyway.

What happens when this entry fee doesn't fix the problem?

This is one reason that I am most likely going to leave the Org this year. I am not in agreement with how the money is being spent overall.

Sounds like you already mentally left. BTW, how the money is being spent is only a real concern if your money is part of it.

Oh yeah, our money is part of it. Between national dues, district dues, sectional dues, SoC, M.M., SFC, Media Missions, Pentecostal Herald, PPH and FM, we are always writing checks. If fact I received two envelopes from HQ today - both wanting money.
