I agree.

Re: FEAR FACTOR: Pentecostal/Apostolic Style

When I say NEW revelation I refer to somethings people get carried away in...some people thinks it makes them more spiritual to have some red hot revelation that the church across town does not have...
New revelations have inclued not wearing red...not wearing sandels...and all kinds of foolish stuff...
God can reveal something we did not know...it may be a clearer understanding or even ew to us but it was there..
I have been to churches where you would have thought the pastor was GOD ALMIGHTY...

I think there is balance...

Okay I see where your going. I don't call that revelations, but I guess I can see where some would.

I think ALL revelations should be backed up in the Word.

Iron does sharpen iron...I agree with that...but when we think of revelations think of all the people false prophets have deceived with new revelations...
yes, I know the Lord can speak to us and reveal things to us but we must be very careful with new revelations...we must prove all things...

Re: FEAR FACTOR: Pentecostal/Apostolic Style

Can we not have balance? We should stand firm on the truth that we KNOW, and also be sensitive to the Spirit of God leading us in a new direction.

It's very easy to decide if a new direction is truly progressive and positive, or just a rabbit trail--line it up with the Word. If the pieces don't fit, toss it out the window. God won't contradict His own Word with a "new direction." Nor does He like stale, dried up, lukewarm saints who refuse to try any new methods or anything outside of their rut.

BALANCE, people, balance. And NO ONE should be so wishy washy they just try every new thing that comes along, even in their zeal to win the lost. You have to weigh everything with the Word.

Re: FEAR FACTOR: Pentecostal/Apostolic Style

Once again, this has turned into an excellent discussion with some very good comments. This is how it should be.

Re: FEAR FACTOR: Pentecostal/Apostolic Style

My Jehovah Witness friend once told me she felt in her spirit that Jehovah knew I was a very sincere person and he would lead me on into the truth. So I am still waiting for Jehovah to lead me on in to "HIS ORGANIZATION"... after I am led into it I will help them clean the earth after the last battle and live in peace in paradise...there must be some rebellion in me because I don´t even think His name is Jehovah...maybe Yahweh but not Jehovah...for they had no J in the alphabet...

I wouldn't call them "false" doctrines.
I would just consider them differences of opinion.

Re: FEAR FACTOR: Pentecostal/Apostolic Style

I will give another example. Two precious friends...one the Lord REVEALED that communion was to be taken with wine...the other one had the Lord revealed to use grapejuice...
Both are precious...now who do I believe?
