I'm honestly wondering if anybody has a problem with this specifically or whether it is the "slippery slope" that they are afraid of...kind of a "greasy gun-control" effect.
The only people gun control laws affect negatively are the law abiding citizens.

The guns used by your average "insert criminal type here" will be obtained through illegal channels any time a gun control measure thwarts their efforts to get the guns they need.

There aren't any criminals out there that go into another line of business because they can no longer obtain their weapon of choice through proper and legal channels.

I have no "assault" weapons. But I DO carry, even in the church. It's concealed, so it's legal and I do have a license and also allow concealed carry in our building and during church.

I would shoot no one unless it was to protect a life and would expect everyone else to do the same.

Between my son and I, we have an arsenal. However, we neither own nor possess any illegal firearms or ammo. However, I will continue to posses whatever firearms we have no matter what laws are passed. Call me radical if you want but I am a VERY peaceful man!

Come against my family and that will change instantly!

If I can't trust him with my family's safety, who can I trust? Hunting, I can understand.

Tell that to the pastors who have been shot in their churches/sanctuaries. I do because I can, am licensed to do so and it's my choice. I pray that I would NEVER have to harm someone even to protect another. But just in case, I'm ready should the Lord choose me to protect a life.

You have a dangerous profile. If you hint at even part of your position, you can be profiled and stopped.

MOW,
I was looking into purchasing a handgun last year. I'm very comfortable with a rifle. I view it as a tool for hunting and general protection around the home from poisonous snakes, strange animals, etc.

However, a handgun represents, for me, a human protection from other human beings. Having said that, my husband posed the question - in the most serious tone I have ever heard from him - "I need you to stop and think, seriously, whether you could hold that gun in your hand, point it at a human being and shoot them if you had to. You have to think about that before I will purchase a handgun. If you can't say yes, then you don't have any business with a handgun."

It was a very sobering reality. Therefore, for someone like me, if I were to purchase a handgun, I would want to take a class in order to feel comfortable with it. I honesty have to say, that I have a healthy fear of handguns. He bought me a 16-gauge instead.

It would depend on who is doing the profiling.

In my profiling of your posts you are a very dangerous individual and the reason the prudent stay anonymous.

People who think along these lines would turn on their best of friends and turn them in to the government at the drop of a hat.

There is nothing dangerous or illegal about what MOW has had to say and it is an awakening to see your reaction to his honest, legal and above board statement.

I AM dangerous......IF you threaten someone's life like a family member or something. Other than that, I seek peace with all men.

I don't fit any of the profiles listed. I work for our local Sheriff's office as well and my son is in the military and law enforcement.
