You know, I thinmk it is very much a regional thing as to what either moniker (Ap or Pent) mean to people.

I do agree with Ed A though. I see a bit of a direction among UPCers to change the indentify word to Apostolic.

and by Apostolic they are trying to identfy or clothline/hairline stance as what indentifies us rather than the Pentecostal experience.

The gospel of standards as always been more important to the upc than the gospel of Christ.

It's no wonder Thomas Fudge was able to so easliy find all the info he spoke of in his book about oneness pentecostal history, "Christianity without the Cross"

as for me, just call me a lover of God.

You want to be "apostolic"?? The church i read of in the bible was not indentified as that.

i see they were called God fearers, the sect called, "The Way' and I see that they, "the disciples, were called "Christians" first at Antioch" (Acts 11:26)

It seems to be apparent that "Christians" is the term that people who followed Christ were known by in the bible. NOT Apostolic or Pentecostal.

Re: Here's My Definition of "Apostolic Identity."

There are folks that can be identified as "Pentecostal", "Apostolic", "Pentecostal Apostolic", and "Apostolic Pentecostal" who fail to be identified as Disciples of Jesus Christ.

There are cultish sects of non-"Pentecostal" religions that can be mistakenly identified as "Pentecostal" or "Apostolic" by the way they look, talk, and act.

I want it to be noted of me that I have been with Jesus. Seriously, I want to have so much Love of God that folks can not mistake me for anything other than a disciple of Christ. Often I fall woefully short. But that is my real desire.
