Re: JP lookng our way
I made it clear at least a couple times the difference between conservativism and legalism. Legalism is the attempt to impose personal convictions on others. Legalism is making a personal opinion salvational for others.
I have a television, but I don't have the Dish, cable or antenna. Does that make me a conservative. I'll fight fire and brimstone before I call that a monitor.

To which I respond, 1)I do have a TV, and Dish network to boot and 2)I agree that there is no scripture for "magic hair." Yet reamin very conservative.
So (respectfully, not the way it sounds)- What is your point?

Re: JP looking our way
So are you saying you don't have a problem with conservatives, even those who keep "standards" but only with legalists?

There in we agree. I am quite conservative, go to a church called a "Holiness Church", keep standards, as those in my church do, but am quite hard on legalistic and unbiblical interpretations and enforcement of standards, as well as attaching salvational status to them. I do preach very strongly against such teachings.
All of which is the point of all my postings on this thread. So many have completely disregarded all modesty "standards", which is not necessary. All that we need to do is re-evaluate standards and our teachings concerning them. To drop them completely is a mistake.

Re: JP looking our way
Quick question,
Why do we spend so much time worrying and crying, discussing and almost cussing over what others think concerning us?
There are some people who would walk into LFC and say to themselves - WOW!! this dude is come kind of ultra-conserative mean spirited freak..........simply by the lifestyle that people at LFC choose to live.........others would walk in and say, when seeing the same people, WOW!! what a loosey <even a word?> goosey weak, limp wristed little pansey that pastors this church - Bottom line..........who cares what those who are only out to get people to live to their line of standard think!!!
I am more interested in What Does HE Think?............ I preach, I teach - but I promise you this if people do not get a revelation FROM GOD concerning being dedicated.........my rules really dont mean a hill of beans. But when HE does the work..........then I am the one who walks in and says........... WOW!!

I understand what you are saying here, but PERSONALLY, I like to think of it as not keeping "standards", but rather "standards" keeping me............

Re: JP looking our way
It appears standards are part of your personal salvation package.

And brakes are a part of my car....... TV, EVERYBODY has some kind or part of a standard - even if it is to have NO STANDARD........
The problem is when people start worshipping the standard and not God.........
I dont worship my standards, but I am thankful that HE has placed in my life certain desires and longings.......if you cannot understand that then we must not be worshipping the same God - Yes they are a part of my salvation package (as you call it), but I promise you this, it is HIM that I am worshipping and it is HIM that I long to please............ actually no one or nothing else matters to me -
Be Blessed.......

Thanks for making things clear IAM!
