Worked so great in the USSR, Nazi Germany and Red China and lazy Europe that people can't wait to force it...er...try it here.
Gov. Rick Perry had some pretty strong comments about the Obama administration on Wednesday in Midland, saying, “This is an administration hell-bent on taking America towards a socialist country.”

I find it funny that you think we are not already a socialist nation... We have welfare, we tax the rich more, we have social security. All of these are socialist practices. Socialism IS NOT communism...

The biggest question is which social practices should be implemented and which should not.

It's often really difficult to discern the differences between socialism and communism.
One difference is that socialism is mainly an economic system, while communism is both an economic and a political system.
Hmmmm, looks like Communism to me.
I thought I should come back and explain what I mean here. I think that Gov. Perry was trying to be cautious. I'm sure what he was wanting to say is, “This is an administration hell-bent on taking America towards a Communistic country.”
Mainly, because Communism embraces the idea that goods and services should be distributed among the populace according to individuals' needs.
That is Obama's idea of government - redistribution of wealth. It is not the same idea that socialism asserts, i.e. distribution takes place according to the amount of an individual's production efforts.

Socialism is great until you run out of the other guy's money to spend.
I'm glad you agree. So, I guess you feel our current implentation of it is great as well, since the other guy seems to be in no danger of running out of money?

While the Chinese may not be out of money, I am concerned about when they will cash in their chips.
Just in case the "other guy" you are referencing is the government, they can just print more when the current supply is insufficient.

????? When did the chinese get in this... The other guy I was speaking of was the guy our government is taking money from to fund it's socialist programs. And seeing as we done have many socialist programs in place (social security, medicare, welfare...) and the other guy (the people paying for these programs by taxes) haven't ran out of money yet, then by your own affirmation our current system must be great (for you said "Socialism is great as long as the other guy don't run out of money")
