I was in an ultra con church years ago and forced myself to listen to the KINGSMEN, some bluegrass and southern gospel, and almost gagged the whole time. Phew!
NOT FOR ME!!!!
I learned that folks who preached against christian rock and contemporary music hated contemporary and rock while in the world and their flesh loved country and western. IOW, their fleshliness carried into their later Christian convictions. Go figure. Nothing wrong with enjoying Christian versions of country music, but do not make it a conviction and heaven/hell issue!

Mike, I preferred rock to country. I can't stomach christian versions of either.

What we stomach and cannot stomach is perfectly fine and great. It's just when people make heaven/hell issues out of it for others that it becomes awry. I hate heavy metal, personally. Never liked it and never will.

There's nothing new under the sun.
I've been in Apostolic Services where people ran around the Church like they were crazy. I've seen babies stepped on, holes put in the walls, chairs kicked over, and grown adults injured.
