I admire the resolve and faith of people like the Triplett's, even if I consider it extremely unwise and maybe even foolish.

But in a day when so many people have NO strong convictions about anything, and no beliefs they won't compromise, I can deeply appreciate people of strong faith and conviction.

I agree that a balanced approach is best. That is why I believe that God's BEST is healing by his stripes. But I would feel wrong to say that someone that goes to a doctor, or takes meds, is in sin.

I DO think we are too quick to run to man, rather than wait on God sometimes.

I think most of us could agree on this.

I don't think the Lord is pleased when we treat prayer like some kind of last resort or spare tire that we reach for when all else fails.

I believe people would receive their healing more often if they went to God first instead of always running for the medicine cabinet or the doctor.

It grieves me to think of Him bearing the stripes in vain.

I do NOT preach against going to doctors, but I do encourage our people to trust God and stretch their faith rather than being so quick to run to the medical profession.

I think you are correct. It was a custom followed by every branch of the American Pentecostal movement(both Trinity & Oneness) not to take medicine in the early years. They may not have put folks in Hell but they practiced it. I have read papers from Asuza St. and they had article after article encouraging saints to trust God and not take medicine. Christ Temple (Bishop Haywood's church) in their early years had a policy of trusting God and not taking medicine. I think the late Jimmy Davis of Lamont lost a daughter years ago trusting God he was taught that in the Apostolic Bible College at Tulsa(which was one of the first UPC Bible Colleges). C. P. & Mary Williams were over it and taught it fervently both died without medical aid. A cancer ate Bro. William's nose and upper lip off.
