The resolution banning television and the resolution allowing the internet were almost identical except one was okay to use with restrictions and the other wasn't permitted to be use at all.

Except some may preach it as a heaven or hell issue or a matter of priniciple based on the articles of faith. So if someone else in the same organiZation is preaching it's okay to watch TV (with qualifications) then according to the other he is a hell-bound hypocrite. Some find it difficult to be tolerant of others faith-based liberties and faith-based convictions. Romans 14

See, that's what I don't understand, with the filtering technology out there for tv, i.e. tivo etc... if we can embrace filtered internet, why not allow filtered tv...?

Are you in the land of Fruit and Nuts? :gclock
I heard of one church where members of a neighboring church started attending after the Pastor said he was in favor of advertising on TV.

Possibly because they have unfairly attacked or slandered those who watch TV in the past??

Unfortunately, yes I am. But the thing about CA, is so much gets tossed around as fact, and there is so much division, that unless you have first hand knowledge, it is absolutely much safer to pay no attention to what is said. Case in point, my father is at GC, and has been against Res. 4 from the beginning. I got a phone call this afternoon from someone who said they had it on good authority that after the vote, my dad said he was sending in his card. Well, the problem with that is that I had just got off the phone with my dad and he most certainly was not making any plans to send in his card. And then he asked me to make an appointment with his eye doctor next week. So you can see, he was just livid over the whole thing.... I'm not trying to trivialize the issue, I know that feelings are very raw, but when it comes to CA, everyone you talk to has a different version of the truth.
