LOL! That is the case with many folks. Tithing $10.00 on a $100.00 isn't too difficult. But tithing $1,000.00 on $10,000.00 can be hard to swallow. Seen it struggled with many times...

Which brings up the question....do you tithe on your income tax return?

Technically, you've already tithed on it if you tithe on gross income.

Correct. I do give an additional offering on it. Obviously tithe should be on gross income. Our increase is what we are paid. Doesn't matter waht the government TAKES. Taxes are just a bill that gets automatically deducted, IMO.

Lol! Don't think that hard!

My grandmother always had the best garden. Whatever she gathered from the garden or canned, she tithed 10% to the pastor.

They loved her!

(she would just ask for the jars back - lol)

OK... I have another question. Our last pastor knew certain times a year that we got bonuses, and if for some reason he didn't see the tithes from it in the pot he would call us into the church office and ask us about it.

My dad's a pastor and I can't imagine him calling saints into the office regarding their tithes. Is that a normal thing to do?

I'm not sure if it's normal, but I think it's wrong.
