My favorite handgun is a Colt Python .357 It's the perfect size for carrying and has plenty of knockdown power.
Personally I prefer a revolver to a semi auto, but that is just me.

Re: Calling all gun owners
hmmm. . .
I am not much of a gun person but I like to have them around. We live in the country and I expect my wife to be able to protect herself.
1 - Glock C17 9mm.
1 - 20 guage shotgun
1 - .22 longrifle
The glock never gets shot because 9mm rounds are expensive. It will hold 18 shots but I only have 5 rounds loaded because I am too cheap to buy more. So if I get in a shootout I am going to have to conserve.
I shoot a lot with the .22 because of all the armadillos around our house. I can't stand those things.

Leave the 9mm on the shelf if you want protection. That 20 gauge will do a much better job.

No, I bought it (.38) from an old fellow about 15 years ago. I do have a Winchester model .97 shotgun that my grandfather gave to my dad when he was about 12, which I believe was made in the early teens.

I need a safe, right now I have them locked in hard carrying cases, which wouldn't help much if they were stolen but it keeps the kids from playing with them without my knowledge.

i have a gun safe, big one and a small one in my closet baron, well worth the money, neither of mine were expensive, but they work well, do it, you wont regret it, in wis if something happens with your weapon you are liable, so i lock em up, no one but me can get to them, dt

If something happens to my weapons they are gone for good. All of them are old enough that they have either never been registered, or never registered to me. But yes I do need to get a safe. Growing up my dad had a gun cabinet with the glass front, not much to keep thieves out but it kept us out.
