That's the problem with people, they think they can believe any lie and be saved but we are saved by truth. Most of God's word is easy to understand, just believe it instead of perverting it.

2 Thes.2:13: But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth. We are saved by sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth. We are saved by the truth,Not a perverted gospel and lies like alot of people are preaching

What I said is not very easy to reconcile, it has roots going to China...
My wife and I visited Heritage Homestead near Waco, TX this past weekend, I can assure you that neither of us have any longings to return. I know this is not a UPC church, but the roots are certainly there. Some of the leaders are former UPC and the influence abounds, a spirit of oppression also abounds. While the village and the quality of their crafts are remarkable, I sensed an incredible spirit of repression.

We left the UPC intentionally and purposefully and have never seconded guessed that decision. After 20+ years God as proven faithful to lead and to guide us, so I have no particular criticism of the UPC was our beginnings, also have no interest in returning.

I have never heard of the Heritage Homestead .......

So it has roots in the UPCI....hence now it is repressed and oppressed.....

These roots are responsible for this......

So one must connect then that Kenneth Phillips and his likes are oppressed due to thier roots in the UPCI.......

Do you reckon oppression and repression might come from the old time process called backsliding.....

This is not an observation or a judgment......

Just a thought....

My pastor was talking to a guy one time who said he was "non-denominational". He asked him what that meant. They guy said it meant that everyone was welcome (as you alluded to).

My pastor said, "Well, we must be non-denominational, too!"

I was eating lunch once with one of the UPCI's most prominent pastors and one of the city leaders of a large city in Texas. The City Manager asked the pastor if he was non-denominational, the pastor replied, "virtually." I thought that was a classic. So now I tell people that I am "virtually non-denominational."
