Well, I'm sure He cleaned up His act and shaved real close before He tried to ascend. Also, I'm sure He made sure His hair didn't touch His ears or collar. And of course He would have put on a long sleeved white shirt; a black tie; a black two or three piece American style business suit; plain black shoes with no buckles or ornamentation; and a belt without a metal buckle. Then, He would have to remove any jewelry He might have been wearing. Now if He was ultra-conservative and very strict holiness He would not even have on a necktie because that would be considered a cloth necklace. I guess He cleaned up good enough to be accepted by the Father because He later poured out the Holy Spirit from the Father.

So according to you, an Apostolic man who wears t-shirts (short sleeved) and has a beard is going to hell?

Please tell us... what scriptures do you use to support this idea?

You will never get more then the one sentence proclamation from Whole Hearted.

Which is why I enjoy hearing him on non-standard related threads where he actually talks (in a couple of sentences or more) about himself or his family. It lets me know their is a real honest person behind that name.

Bro Epley,

Then why do some Pentecostals find it necessary to bind the two together?

...PAFF...Partially Apostolic Friends Forum...

...just pick one...there needs to be fairness in labeling...

Well, RW, theres a mindset there that bothers me.

I love this Apostolic truth, but when we have pastors and preachers telling new converts they have to shave their beards off, they have to stop wearing T-shirts, etc... we end up putting tradition and standards on the same level as doctrine.

I have no problems with standards that have some basis in scripture, but too many of our standards are so biblically indefensible it's just mind boggling to me that clear minded people just accept them.

But if you challenge some of the ultra cons as to the scriptural foundation of some of their standards, they can get very defensive. However, they'll often maintain their unbiblical standards anyway based on the premise of "remove not the old landmarks". This is problematic, because once we start mixing biblical truth with man-made error, we end up undermining the truth.

...because too often, many will (and do) end up saying, "if they're so clearly wrong about that... maybe they're also in error when it comes to the Jesus name thing/the HG thing/ the Oneness of God, etc).
