I don't know if it was Yahweh or Yehowah or what back then.
I believe it is now Yeshua or Yehoshua (or Jesus if you speak modern English).
In my 1611 KJV He was called Iesvs because our letter "J" wasn't used back then and a "v" and "u" were used interchangeably.

Both are precious...now who do I believe?

Unless I had a personal conviction against it, I would celebrate communion in each situation the way they saw fit.

I think perhaps a rediscovery, or a second look-IDK-

Baptism in Jesus name has always been there, but when they realized thats what they needed to do-

What did they call it 100 yrs ago?
Baptism in Jesus' name was called the "New Issue."

Re: FEAR FACTOR: Pentecostal/Apostolic Style

I heard one preacher say in service, " I don´t know any church that has more truth than ours...one may exist but I have ever found it.."

The Holy Ghost has to reveal truth to us because the bible is spiritual discerned.

Huh?

Where did I accuse you of counseling someone to leave the UPC?

MOW, go back and read your original post. The crux of that post is that rejecting new revelations is old fashioned and bad. It seems your point was that those who reject vogue "revelations" are closed to anything new from God.

A few hungry people receive the additional "revelation" and unfortunately are labeled heretics by the established group. Those in the group who have embraced the additional "revelation" are ostracized and retain the heretic label. Those folks leave the group, while retaining the previous "revelation" and rejoicing over the new revelation/truth which brings new life, excitement, conversions etc.

This is the world according to MOW:

Those who leave = good.
Those who reject = bad.

My original post was observing a historical pattern. You can call it good or bad. I opened up discussion of this pattern without specifics. You. Seem to think I have some type of agenda. Well, you're right! My agenda is discussing this historical pattern. What do you think about it?

I think your basic premise has merit.

However, I think your application of that premise is faulty and colored by your personal experiences.
