Did anyone see the halftime show? I have not, but I've heard that it was almost if not, satanic in nature? They said the choir that appeared had a man dressed in black with a hood? Creepy.
Mmmmm, it actually wasn't that bad. I won't say it was good (since I am not a Madonna fan other then liking a few of her EARLY songs) but was much tamer then I thought it would be.

Yeah. It was very tame for a Madonna show, nothing I would consider inappropriate. She sure has aged and put on some weight.

I am just as glad that I only here it, and do not have to deal with their 'entertainment'. I enjoyed a great church service, and entirely missed anything resembling a half-time show.

The half time shows are all lame. People watch the Superbowl to watch football, not a 5-8 minute medley of someone's top 5 songs.

Re: IBC Declined To Sing With Madonna/Super Bowl

I am THRILLED that IBC didn't sing with Madonna. If our kids were attending Bible school and the school snagged a gig like that, I would be furious. That would be the antithesis of godliness and indicative of bad judgment on the part of the administration, were that the case.

Madonna is a show-woman, no doubt. I can appreciate "talent" in its various forms, but she is nothing to be admired, aspired to or emulated. To sing on the same stage as Madonna is nigh to an endorsement of her undulating, smutty performance and even smuttier lyrics and musical productions of the past.

KUDOS to IBC and Bro. Mooney for making a wise decision. There was nothing to be gained by performing with Madonna. Nothing. Other than money. And money is not important enough in the large scheme of things to be a determining factor.

Those who support the idea have confused the ability to be entertaining with some sort of admirable virtue, IMO.

Many "church people" now TiVo it and have party after church...

I have no interest myself so it's nothing to miss it... besides the hot wings and the brewskis (N A of course)!

Well, my family catches the last quarter and a half over the internet. Dad can find radio style broadcasts from espn or something. I do not pay that much attention. If I am at home, I never have a sports game on.

Re: IBC Declined To Sing With Madonna/Super Bowl

Like A Prayer is X-rated and I can't believe anyone here would think it an acceptable song for any Christian to sing with Madonna.
She promotes Kabballa, a corruption of the Jewish faith, she graced the cover of Rolling Stone in a post-orgasmic pose on a chair...pulleeze!

This is a NO - BRAINER! God bless IBC for staying true to their principles! Nobody would have cared that it was IBC, but they would remember that they were the choir that "backed" Madonna...
